Before You Book
Why a Standard 5-Seat Insurance Policy Doesn't Cover a Family or Group of Seven
A vehicle with seven seats is not automatically insured for seven passengers. Here is where a standard hire falls short for a family or group.
A hire that only insures 5 of 7 declared passengers
A standard urban hire policy in a 7-seat vehicle may only cover five declared passengers - anyone beyond that number has no cover in any incident. Barguts Tours confirms the full-occupancy insurance declaration for every 7-seater booking before the vehicle departs.
A child seat installed without checking the vehicle's anchor points
A child seat that is not matched to the vehicle's specific anchor points is not properly secured, whatever it looks like from the outside. Barguts Tours fits and verifies age-appropriate child seats using the vehicle's own anchor points before the family arrives, recorded on the pre-hire condition report.
A group of seven stranded with a saloon-car replacement
A saloon-car replacement forces a group of seven to split mid-trip, which defeats the point of hiring a 7-seater in the first place. Barguts Tours guarantees a passenger-capacity replacement - not a saloon - within 2-4 hours inside the 70km Nairobi radius.

The Barguts Difference
What Makes a Barguts 7-Seater Hire Different for Families and Groups
Child Seats Fitted Before Collection
Age-appropriate child seats - infant carrier, forward-facing toddler, or booster - are fitted and verified before the collection appointment using the vehicle's specific anchor points. Seat type is confirmed at booking based on the child's age and weight. Installation is recorded on the pre-hire condition report before the family arrives.
Full-Occupancy Insurance for All Passengers
Every vehicle carries comprehensive insurance declared for full seven-seat occupancy. A standard urban hire policy in a 7-seat vehicle may only cover five declared passengers - anyone beyond that number has no cover in any incident. Barguts Tours confirms the full-occupancy insurance declaration for every booking before the vehicle departs.
BDFP Condition Report Covering All Three Rows
Every vehicle receives a full BDFP pre-hire inspection: all tyres including the spare, fluid levels, brakes, and all three seat rows including belts and boot. Every finding is recorded on your dual-signed condition report with photographic evidence. No undocumented condition can be charged at return.
24/7 Replacement Guarantee - A 7 Seater, Not a Saloon
Mechanical failure triggers deployment of a replacement passenger-capacity vehicle within 2-4 hours within the 70km Nairobi service radius. The replacement is a 7 seater - not a standard saloon that forces the group to split. Upcountry breakdowns beyond the radius receive immediate remote coordination with a local recovery provider.
This vehicle also works well for weddings and special occasions — see our Wedding Car Hire options.

Which 7-seater is right for my family or group - Wish, Noah, Alphard, Fortuner, or Prado?
The Toyota Wish (from KES 7,500/day) suits a smaller family needing basic 7-seat capacity at the lowest price point. The Toyota Noah or its twin the Voxy (from KES 8,000/day) offers a step up in cabin comfort at a similar footprint. The Toyota Alphard (from KES 13,000/day), or its sportier twin the Vellfire (from KES 15,000/day), suits a larger group wanting minivan-class comfort on longer trips. The 7-seat Fortuner (from KES 15,000/day) suits a family or group also needing real off-tarmac clearance. The 7-seat Prado (from KES 12,000/day) suits the largest groups or the most demanding upcountry and safari routes.
How far in advance should I book a 7-seater in Nairobi?
Vehicle category is confirmed within 1-2 hours of contact. A child-seat-equipped booking benefits from earlier confirmation than a standard hire, since the correct seat and anchor-point match needs to be checked before the vehicle is prepared. Multi-vehicle group bookings need at least 48 hours notice - 72 hours for three or more vehicles - to guarantee full fleet availability.
Child seats fitted on request. Full-occupancy insurance confirmed. Replacement is a 7 seater - the group stays together.
