NTSA Operator Licence
Barguts Tours holds a current NTSA Operator Licence authorising commercial vehicle hire throughout Kenya. All fleet vehicles carry valid inspection certificates and are registered for hire use. Self-drive and chauffeur services both operate under this licence.

PSV-Licensed Drivers
Every driver on a chauffeur assignment holds a valid PSV licence issued by the NTSA. PSV licensing requires a clean driving record, a medical certificate, a DCI certificate of good conduct, and a passed PSV driver test. Driver name, licence number, and vehicle registration are sent to the booking contact before the first journey.
You know who is driving before the vehicle arrives. No unverified or sub-contracted drivers on confirmed bookings.
Insurance Cover
Comprehensive Insurance
All vehicles carry comprehensive commercial hire insurance covering own damage (accident, fire, theft), third-party liability, passenger liability, and windscreen cover. This is not the minimum statutory disc — every vehicle is insured at its declared replacement value. Excess amounts and any off-road exclusions are stated in the written quote before payment.
Safari and national park endorsement is confirmed in writing before departure — cover is never assumed.
Fleet Standards
Fleet Maintenance Schedule
Every vehicle is serviced on a 5,000 km or 3-month interval (whichever comes first). A 45-point pre-hire inspection covering tyres, brakes, lights, fluids, AC, seat belts, and condition documentation is completed before every hire without exception. The condition report is signed by both parties at handover.
The condition report protects you from any pre-existing damage claim at return. What is documented at departure is your baseline.
